The High-Level Committee of Experts, tasked with formulating a comprehensive strategy for President John Dramani Mahama’s upcoming 2027 African Union (AU) Chairmanship, has successfully concluded its mandate and submitted its final deliverables to the Presidency.
The committee presented five comprehensive reports detailing the strategy document, priority pillars, and work programme designed to guide President Mahama’s leadership of the continental body.
Speaking at the official handover ceremony at the Presidency on Friday, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Chair of the High-Level Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, highlighted the strategic focus of the submitted documents. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve both the nation and the broader African continent in preparing for the pivotal leadership role.
The preparatory work aims to establish a clear, actionable direction for Ghana’s tenure at the helm of the AU. With the preliminary frameworks now finalized, President Mahama’s chairmanship is projected to deliver targeted outcomes focused on continental integration, economic strategy, and institutional reform.
