The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formally communicated the appointment of the Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Hon. James Agalga, as the new Majority Leader of Parliament.
The announcement was conveyed in an official letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and signed by the NDC General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
According to the party hierarchy, the decision was finalized following high-level consultations between the leadership of the NDC and the Presidency.
The leadership transition takes effect immediately. The party indicated that the appointment is structured to deliver the requisite direction, strategic oversight, and organizational coordination for the NDC Majority Caucus as Parliament continues its legislative and constitutional duties.
Expressing full confidence in the newly named Majority Leader, the NDC leadership stated that with the cooperation of the Speaker and Members of Parliament from across the aisle, Hon. Agalga will provide the necessary leadership to advance the work of the House in the supreme interest of the country.
