The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has completed its 2026 Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) bond obligations after settling GH¢2,306,202,372.09 to affected bondholders.

The latest payment follows an earlier coupon settlement of GH¢376,325,910.09 in March, raising the total amount disbursed to DDEP bondholders this year to GH¢2,682,582,282.18.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, the Board noted that the payment brings its mandatory financial obligations for the year to a close, following a separate settlement of GH¢162 million in July to Cocoa Bill holders who opted out of the debt swap.

“The settlement brought COCOBOD’s outstanding obligations to the affected non-DDEP Cocoa Bill holders to a close,” the statement read.

Management emphasised that the timely disbursements reflect its resolve to restore stability to the cocoa sector’s finances under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance.

“Taken together, these payments demonstrate the Board’s commitment to responsible financial management and the systematic settlement of its financial obligations as part of the broader effort to strengthen the financial sustainability of Ghana’s cocoa sector,” the statement added.
