A motor rider has been killed after his motorbike was reportedly hit and run over by a heavy-duty vehicle on the Amasaman Highway this (September 3, 2026) morning.
The accident has resulted in heavy traffic on the affected stretch of the highway as police officers work to clear the scene and restore the free flow of vehicles.
Eyewitnesses said the heavy-duty vehicle ran over the motorbike, killing the rider instantly.
Police have since arrived at the scene.
The deceased’s body has been conveyed to the morgue as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash get underway.
Authorities are expected to establish what led to the collision as part of the ongoing investigation.
