The Ghana Education Service (GES) has established a dedicated help desk at its headquarters in Accra to address unresolved salary arrears and related concerns affecting teachers recruited in 2024.
The move follows the receipt of a formal petition from the Coalition of Unpaid Teachers, which raised grievances regarding outstanding payments owed to its members.
In an official statement signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, the Service stated that financial processing for the affected cohort had already been completed, though individual discrepancies remain.
“Records available to Management indicate that the salaries and arrears due to teachers within this group have been processed. However, Management recognises that some individual cases may require further verification and resolution,” Mr Fenyi said.
To expedite the clearance of these outstanding cases, affected personnel have been directed to present their supporting documents in person at the GES Headquarters.
“Teachers with unresolved concerns are encouraged to report to the HELP DESK at GES HQ ROOM 305 with the relevant supporting documents to enable Management to verify and address their cases promptly,” the statement read.
Recognising that not all teachers may be able to travel to the capital, the Service has also activated remote communication channels. Affected staff unable to visit the headquarters in person can reach the help desk directly via hotlines 0201360786 or 0201360789 for guidance on submitting their details.
Reassuring staff of its commitment to resolving the issue, the Service maintained that it remains dedicated to addressing all legitimate concerns promptly and safeguarding the welfare of teachers across the country.
