A dark cloud has settled over the Kade community in the Kwaebibirem Municipality of the Eastern Region, following the tragic death of three biological brothers in a gory motorbike accident.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Abubakar Kamiru, who was recently married, and his two younger brothers: Abdul Bashiru Fataw, aged 21, and 17-year-old Shamshu Seidu.
Reports gathered indicate that the trio were riding together on a single motorbike, travelling to welcome Abubakar’s new bride (fresh amarya) into their family home.
The horrific incident occurred at the popular C4C Junction along the main Kade highway when their motorbike was involved in a violent collision under circumstances currently being investigated by the local police.
Eyewitnesses at the scene revealed that the force of the impact threw the three brothers onto the hard tarmac, leaving them with severe head injuries and multiple bodily fractures.
Residents and passers-by rushed to the scene to render assistance, but the victims were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, devastating family members who were actively preparing for celebratory traditional festivities to receive the new bride.
Speaking to local reporters, grief-stricken family members described the incident as an unbearable blow, noting that what was meant to be a day of joy and union has suddenly turned into a moment of profound mourning.
Police officers from the Kade District Command arrived at the scene shortly after the crash to secure the area, clear the wreckage, and convey the bodies to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
Meanwhile, local authorities have reiterated calls for motor riders in the region to avoid overloading, exercise maximum caution on the roads, and adhere strictly to traffic safety regulations, including the mandatory wearing of protective helmets.
Investigative officers have commenced full inquiries into the exact cause of the crash to assist in establishing the facts surrounding the tragic event.
