The heartbreaking incident occurred on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm. According to family sources, Kofi had retired to his room for the night. However, family members later discovered his lifeless body, plunging the entire household into intense wailing and disbelief.

Devastated relatives who spoke to journalists could not hold back their tears, describing Kofi as a remarkably decent, calm, and respectful young man who kept to himself and had no known disputes with anyone in the community.

“Kofi was a very good boy, very decent. He had no troublesome friends in this area. We are still in shock because we never expected this. We are mourning our beloved son,” one relative narrated.

The sad news quickly spread across Abesim, drawing scores of sympathisers to the family house. Many residents expressed anguish over the loss, describing the deceased as a promising young man with a bright future ahead of him.

Confirming the incident, the Assembly Member for the area, Mr Theophilus Yeboah, recounted receiving a distressing phone call about the tragedy. He immediately rushed to the scene, where he was met with grief and confusion.

Officers from the Ghana Police Service have since retrieved the body and deposited it at the morgue for preservation and autopsy, whilst investigations continue to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
