According to police sources, the suspects admitted during interrogation to belonging to a wider criminal network that relies on external contacts for weapon supplies to execute robberies within the three districts.

Following the arrests, two victims visited the police station and positively identified two members of the gang. The victims recounted being held at gunpoint and robbed of two Yamaha scooter motorbikes valued at GH¢30,000 and GH¢32,000, while being threatened with death if they contacted the authorities.

The suspects confessed to the attack and disclosed that the firearm used was supplied by an accomplice based in Bawku, who also stores weapons for the syndicate.

Subsequent searches conducted at the residences of Abdul-Rashid Adamu, Apiiga Alebena, and Bilal Adabodee led to the recovery of two unregistered motorbikes, quantities of illicit drugs, and GH¢29,550 in cash, suspected to be crime proceeds.

The Bolgatanga Circuit Court has remanded all seven suspects into police custody to reappear on 23rd September 2026. Investigations and tracking operations remain ongoing to locate and apprehend the Bawku-based weapon supplier.
