A violent clash between the youth of Akyem Mamanso and Teichu has left two people fighting for their lives after sustaining severe machete wounds at the Mamanso roundabout.
The confrontation was reportedly triggered by a heated dispute over access to a water source used for local mining operations.
An eyewitness revealed that during the altercation, some youth from Akyem Mamanso allegedly set upon the victims with machetes, inflicting deep cuts on them.
Bystanders rushed the two wounded individuals to the New Abirem Government Hospital, where medical staff are currently administering emergency treatment.
The incident has sparked widespread anxiety across both communities, prompting residents to appeal for swift intervention from traditional authorities and security forces to head off potential reprisal attacks.
