The technical handlers of the Ghana senior national team, the Black Stars, have officially announced a 23-man squad ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches and an international friendly.
The squad will assemble for international duty covering the period between September 24 and October 4, 2026. Ghana will host Côte d’Ivoire on September 24 in their opening AFCON qualifying fixture before travelling to face The Gambia on September 29. The team will conclude the international window with a high-profile friendly against Morocco on October 4.
The squad list features three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders, and eight forwards.
Local representative Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak makes the cut alongside European-based shot-stoppers Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang. The defensive unit includes experienced options such as Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, and Alexander Djiku, with additional depth provided by Jan Gyamerah, Derrick Luckassen, Nathaniel Adjei, Jerome Opoku, and Kojo Oppong Peprah.
The midfield sector features Swehly Club’s Kwasi Sibo, Coventry City’s Caleb Yirenkyi, Augustine Boakye of Saint-Étienne, Ronald Donkor of New York Red Bulls, and Sassuolo’s Ibrahim Sulemana.
In attack, top-flight Premier League and European talents lead the line, including Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Ernest Nuamah, and Ibrahim Osman, alongside veteran forward Jordan Ayew, Christopher Bonsu Baah, and Prince Adu Kwabena.
