A distressed widow has made an urgent public call to law enforcement agencies and relevant state institutions to help retrieve her estate documentation and assets, which were allegedly seized and liquidised by her head pastor.
Madam Gifty Moses, a single mother, revealed that the Senior Prophet of her church, Sampson Seidu, allegedly leveraged her vulnerability during childbirth to gain possession of land titles and vehicle ownership paperwork left behind by her deceased husband.
According to her, the clergyman insisted on taking custody of the title deeds for housing complexes, retail shops, a pick-up truck, and a Kia Rhino commercial vehicle, framing the act as a necessary divine intervention.
“He told me that as I went into the delivery room, evil forces and intruders could break into my house to steal my late husband’s papers. He insisted that placing them under his spiritual protection was the only way to safeguard our inheritance until I returned from the hospital,” Madam Moses stated during an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem.
She explained that despite repeated verbal assurances that the deeds would be handed back immediately after her recovery, the prophet continuously evaded her requests once she was discharged.
Subsequent checks by the widow revealed that portions of her landed property had been secretly put on the market and sold off to third parties without her knowledge or authorization.
“I trusted him entirely as my spiritual father, but he took advantage of my labor pains and grief. He has refuse to give back a single document, and now I have discovered he has already sold off parts of my late husband’s property without my consent,” she added.
Madam Moses is appealing to the Ghana Police Service, human rights organisations, and traditional authorities to step into the matter, secure her remaining holdings, and bring the clergyman to book.
