President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has attributed Ghana’s current economic gains to renewed confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership.
According to him, the rapid improvement in the country’s economic fortunes demonstrates the critical role investor trust plays in driving economic recovery.
He made the remarks on Monday, September 21, 2026, while speaking at the Accra Reset initiative hosted by President Mahama on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
The African billionaire noted that the President did not rely on extraordinary measures to achieve the turnaround, but instead took the right strategic decisions to reassure investors and rebuild confidence in Ghana’s economy.
“He didn’t do any magic. He’s not a magician, but he did the right things, and people really have a lot of trust in him. And that’s why Ghana’s economy turned around. This has actually shown that money follows trust,” he said.
