Security officers at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) have taken at least three individuals into custody, including a woman, after they were caught flying an unauthorised drone over the law enforcement agency’s headquarters.
Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah was inside the compound undergoing questioning with his legal team when the breach occurred.
The suspect drone was spotted hovering above the secure government compound, prompting immediate action from security personnel stationed at the premises. The team swiftly intercepted the operators and placed all three suspects under arrest.
It remains unclear what motivated the group to operate the device over the restricted zone during the high-profile questioning of the lawmaker.
The three individuals are currently detained at the facility as security officials conduct preliminary investigations into the breach and determine potential security and privacy violations.
