Firefighters are currently struggling to contain a massive blaze that erupted at Avenor, close to the Industrial Area in Accra, on Thursday morning.
The inferno broke out at roughly 7:30 am in Kofikrom, a precinct behind the railway line near Avenor junction.
The affected area is densely populated with wooden kiosks and serves as a bustling hub for local cattle and goat traders.
Plumes of dense black smoke and fierce flames have filled the skyline, visible from several miles away.
Crews from the Ghana National Fire Service were dispatched swiftly to the scene and are working frantically to douse the flames and stop the fire from spreading to adjacent properties.
The cause of the outbreak and the extent of damage or casualties remain unconfirmed as emergency personnel continue their operations on site.
