Newly elected National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has issued an official statement expressing gratitude to the party’s rank and file following his election victory at the recent National Delegates Conference.
In a official statement released under reference JB/ELEC/TH-05-26 and dated 5 October 2026, the former General Secretary extended his appreciation to the party’s delegates, campaign team, and supporters for entrusting him with the mantle of leadership.
“By the grace of Almighty God, I have been given the great honour of serving as National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” Boadu stated. “I am deeply grateful to the rank and file of our Party, especially the delegates, for your trust and support. I am humbled by this mandate and accept it with a profound sense of responsibility.”
Emphasising the need for collective action across all structures, Boadu noted that the outcome represents a unified success rather than an individual achievement.
“This is not a victory for one person or one group. It is a victory for the NPP,” he declared. “To my fellow contestants, I extend my hand of friendship and partnership. Your ideas, experience and commitment remain valuable assets to our Party. From this moment, there are no winners and losers, only one NPP, united in purpose and determined to win in 2028.”
Setting out his core agenda for his tenure, the National Chairman pledged to work alongside all executive tiers—including the General Secretary, newly elected national officers, regional and constituency leaders, Members of Parliament, and tertiary wings—to restore party cohesion and rebuild grassroots trust.
“Together, we must rebuild our structures, promote discipline, and ensure that every member feels valued, heard and protected, while upholding the integrity of our internal elections,” he added. “We must also reconnect with our youth and restore the Party’s presence in our tertiary institutions, making them centres of constructive political engagement and leadership development.”
Boadu reassured party members of an inclusive approach to leadership aimed at positioning the NPP firmly ahead of the next general elections.
“Unity does not mean uniformity. Our diverse experiences are a source of strength, and I pledge to lead with an open door: to listen, consult and embrace good ideas, wherever they come from,” he stated. “As your National Chairman, I pledge to serve with humility, lead through consultation and promote reconciliation. Together, we will rebuild trust, restore confidence and bring back the winning ways of the NPP in 2028.”
