Hon. Musah Ziyad has officially picked up nomination forms to contest for the position of Deputy Regional Communications Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region.
The hopeful candidate, who describes himself as a leader, servant, advocate, and builder, declared his intention to bring fresh energy, experience, and organisational capacity to the party’s regional communications outfit.
Speaking after securing his nomination forms, Hon. Ziyad stated that his decision to run stems from deep conviction, humility, and an unyielding commitment to the NDC. He emphasised that his main priority is to build a united, proactive, and formidable communications front capable of empowering every constituency across the region.
According to him, strengthening the party’s grassroots communicators will be central to his strategy, ensuring that the NDC’s policies, achievements, and core messages resonate in every corner of Greater Accra.
Hon. Ziyad stressed that the upcoming internal election is far more than a personal quest for office, framing it instead as a dedicated commitment to service and the future development of the party. He expressed his readiness to lead, organise, and establish a robust communications machinery that will proactively shape political narratives rather than merely reacting to political opponents.
Hon. Musah Ziyad is the Presiding Member of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the elected Assembly Member for the Amamomo Electoral Area, serving since 2015.
A development communicator and community advocate, he previously chaired the AMA’s Revenue and Development Sub-Committees, driving initiatives in sanitation, public health, literacy, child development, and revenue generation in communities like Old Fadama.
His earlier career includes public health data and communication roles at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Ussher Polyclinic, child welfare programming at the Youth & Children Foundation, and quality assurance inspections with the Ghana Tourism Authority.
Academically, he holds an MA in Development Communications from AUCC and a BA in Tourism and Culture with Economics from KNUST, where he also served as the SRC Electoral Commissioner.
