Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo (Esq.), has publicly declared her support for her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, recognising him as the leader of both the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
In a signed press statement issued to reaffirm her dedication to family unity and reconciliation, the legal practitioner noted that the move is aimed at preserving the enduring legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo.
Adwoa Safo urged family members and church congregants to put aside past disputes that followed their father’s passing and focus on conciliation.
“The time has come for us, as a family, to transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances that may have characterised the immediate aftermath of the demise of our dear dad and consign them to history. I have chosen the path of conciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family,” she stated.
Reaffirming her commitment to work alongside her brother, she expressed full support for his leadership.
“I have immense love and respect for my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and in the spirit of honouring our father’s wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church. He has my full support, and I state unequivocally, that, I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,” she added.
She described their father’s legacy as a shared responsibility that requires collective effort from all his children.
“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children and it is a charge we must keep and hold on to, dearly. We must therefore rise above our differences, preserve what he built and ensure that his ideals continue to inspire generations to come,” she stressed.
Adwoa Safo further appealed to the broader membership of the Kristo Asafo Church and the Kantanka family to respect the unified front and embrace a new chapter.
“I encourage all members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the larger Kantanka family and everyone associated with our father’s work whilst he was alive to acknowledge and respect the unity of the family. Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose,” she noted.
She concluded by extending her goodwill to her brother and siblings, wishing them healing and strength as they work together.
“I extend my sincere goodwill and best wishes to my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo and to my other siblings on this renewed journey of peace and forgiveness. May this new chapter bring healing, unity and renewed strength as we come together to honour and advance the legacy of our beloved father,” she concluded.
