Residents of Tosen, a quiet community tucked near Adum-Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, have been left shell-shocked following a violent domestic tragedy that has claimed two lives.
The grim incident, which unfolded on Saturday, has blanketed the entire settlement in profound fear, grief, and mourning.
According to details gathered from the ground, local commercial motorcyclist—commonly known as an Okada rider—Emmanuel, was navigating through the area when he heard two sharp gunshots ring out. Initially dismissing the blasts as sounds linked to a local celebration in town, he rode past without stopping.
However, panic quickly replaced assumptions. Moments later, two terrified children bolted from a nearby residence, screaming hysterically for assistance and crying out that their father had shot their mother.
Prompted by the frantic children, Emmanuel immediately altered his course and sped to the local police station to lodge an official complaint.
Up to this point, the underlying motive driving the horrifying action remains entirely unclear, leaving bewildered neighbours grappling for answers over what could push a man to such a desperate extreme.
Operatives from the Ghana Police Service have since visited the scene of the crime, taking control of the situation. The remains of the couple have been evacuated and deposited at the mortuary to undergo preservation and autopsy, even as law enforcement officers scale up investigations to untangle the full circumstances of the tragedy.
