The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has made a passionate appeal for unity, reconciliation, and inclusivity within the New Patriotic Party following the conclusion of the constituency’s internal elections.
Speaking at the maiden general meeting of the constituency, which drew a large turnout of polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and enthusiastic party faithful adorned in red, white, and blue, the lawmaker stressed the urgent need to bridge divides and channel collective energies towards securing a decisive victory in 2028.
Addressing the gathering, the MP urged members to let go of any grievances stemming from the recent contests, announcing his direct involvement in spearheading a comprehensive healing process across the area.
“That election, constituency election, those who pulled out or did not pull out… my constituency executives will bear with me, I have asked that we should meet them,” he stated, emphasizing a hands-on approach to bringing every aggrieved member back into the fold.
He specifically charged the Constituency Chairman, Benjamin Adams, alongside his executive team, to embrace all factions, noting that the party’s ambition to retain the seat and influence the national political landscape in 2028 hinges entirely on solidarity and a common purpose.
Underscoring that internal democratic exercises are meant to strengthen rather than fracture the party, the legislator assured constituents that his doors remain open to all members, regardless of their allegiances during the internal polls.
The well-attended maiden gathering forms part of broader strategic initiatives by the leadership to revitalize the grassroots base in Weija-Gbawe in preparation for upcoming national engagements.
