The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has granted enquiry bail to the Member of Parliament for Suame, Hon. John Darko, after he honoured an invitation to assist with an ongoing criminal investigation.
The anti-graft agency is currently probing an alleged criminal conspiracy that resulted in a revised financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans Company Limited, now estimated at approximately GH¢27 million.
According to an official statement issued by EOCO, the Suame lawmaker reported to its head office at exactly 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The office noted that the MP was “respectful, cooperative and fully responsive throughout the investigative process”.
“Having regard to the circumstances of the case, the applicable law and the Honourable Member’s level of cooperation with investigators, the Office granted him enquiry bail,” the statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs and Public Education Unit read.
EOCO further revealed that Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, the former Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans, also responded to an invitation and is currently cooperating with investigators.
The agency emphasised that its probes are “progressing steadily according to its case theory” and clarified that no conclusion has been drawn regarding the culpability of any individual involved.
