The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has successfully repaired and restored two additional constituency ambulances to service under its ongoing initiative, Operation Restore Fleet.
The restored vehicles, assigned to the Domeabra-Obom and Weija-Gbawe constituencies, are currently stationed at the Service’s headquarters in Accra. They are fully equipped and ready for immediate deployment to resume critical emergency prehospital care within the respective communities.
In an official update on the progress of the exercise, the Service reaffirmed its dedicated commitment to returning non-operational vehicles to active duty to bolster health emergency responses across the country.
“This development underscores NAS’s commitment to restoring non-operational ambulances to service, strengthening emergency response capacity, and ensuring that more communities have access to timely prehospital emergency care when every second counts,” the Service stated.
The management of NAS added that Operation Restore Fleet remains a targeted effort aimed at increasing fleet availability and efficiency to guarantee that more life-saving vehicles are operational on Ghanaian roads.
“Operation Restore Fleet remains a focused effort to improve fleet availability, enhance operational efficiency, and get more ambulances back on the road to serve the people of Ghana,” NAS noted.
With the addition of the two units, the Service aims to broaden its operational reach, bringing vital emergency medical care closer to local residents.
