The Acting Head of Health Training Institutions, Mr Tony Goodman, has issued a stern warning to nursing students and practising nurses against using their official uniforms to create inappropriate content on social media platforms.
Speaking on the growing trend across various digital channels, Mr Goodman stressed that such actions threaten to erode the dignity, trust, and public respect long associated with the noble profession.
He emphasized that the nursing uniform represents a sacred commitment to healthcare delivery and human life, which must be guarded with the utmost professionalism.
He revealed that high-level discussions are currently underway with the Nursing and Midwifery Council to establish measures aimed at curbing the practice and re-enforcing ethical standards among both trainees and active healthcare workers.
Mr Goodman further called on management teams across all nursing training institutions nationwide to step up supervision and actively discourage students from engaging in online activities that could bring the health sector into disrepute.
