Addressing stakeholders at the launch, Vice-Chancellor Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor emphasized that the venture embodies the institution’s dedication to blending rigorous academic theory with industry-ready, problem-solving skills.

He noted that the initiative aligns with his broader strategy to embed digital technology deeply into the academic curriculum while fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Operating at a weekly capacity of 1,000 units, the facility is slated for full commercialization alongside phased increases in regional raw material sourcing.

Prof. Mawutor revealed aspirations to integrate thirty percent of domestically manufactured components within three years, ultimately aiming to deepen local participation across the technology value chain through targeted skills transfer.

Technical partner Mind Dey Talent and IT Co. Ltd, represented by Acting Chief Executive Officer Mr. Jimmy Wilson Owusu, underscored the transformative educational value of the partnership, framing it as a catalyst for translating theoretical digital knowledge into tangible engineering expertise.

Echoing these sentiments, UPSA Governing Council Chairman Dr. Harry Lawson Agbanu asserted that sustainable technological advancement demands institutional self-reliance in local equipment manufacturing and assembly. Meanwhile, La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fuseini commended the infrastructure investment, pledging municipal cooperation to leverage the project for broader regional innovation and capacity building.
