The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yamin, has stated that his decision to maintain his position within the party’s national executive structure is rooted in the magnitude of the work required for the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at a press briefing following the successful picking of his nomination forms, Mr Yamin warned that the 2028 presidential and parliamentary contests will present far greater challenges than the 2024 polls.
He stressed that steering the party to victory would demand dedicated, experienced, and strategic leadership capable of anticipating and counteracting the strategies of political opponents.
Highlighting the dynamic between the two major political forces, Mr Yamin observed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has already elected its flagbearer, leaving its members with no alternative but to rally behind their chosen candidate.
Conversely, the opposition NDC is yet to elect its flagbearer, making seasoned party organisation critical to navigating the upcoming political terrain.
Mr Yamin, who is seeking to retain his position as National Organiser unopposed, reaffirmed his commitment to mobilising supporters, strengthening the party’s internal structures, and helping build a better Ghana.
He emphasised that the election ahead will require leaders who possess a deep understanding of political strategy and party organisation to secure a decisive outcome for the NDC.
