Residents across coastal and inland areas of Ghana have been advised to plan their daily movements carefully following forecasts of slight to moderate thunderstorms and rainfall.
The warning comes from the Ghana Meteorological Agency, which predicts weather disruptions that could affect early-morning commutes, outdoor activities, and general travel across several regions.
According to the forecast, sunny conditions are likely to emerge by midday, but the respite may be short-lived as further rainfall is anticipated later in the evening, particularly within the middle belt, transition zone, and coastal sectors.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio’s flagship news programme, Nyankonton Mu Nsem, a meteorologist at the agency’s Central Analysis and Forecast Office, Frederick Cudjoe, urged the public to stay informed and exercise caution throughout the day.
“We are expecting slight to moderate thunderstorms or rainfall across parts of the coastal and inland towns,” Mr Cudjoe explained. “While sunny conditions will dominate in the afternoon, rain could return later in the day, especially around the middle belt and coastal areas.”
He further emphasized the need for commuters and outdoor workers to adjust their schedules to avoid unnecessary disruptions caused by sudden weather shifts.
“Residents in the affected areas must plan their movements around the possibility of rain and keep a close eye on GMet’s official weather updates for timely advisories,” Mr Cudjoe added.
Authorities continue to urge motorists and pedestrians to remain alert, avoid flood-prone routes during heavy downpours, and monitor official weather bulletins for further developments.
