Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the Acting Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, noted that the names of aspiring candidates will only be officially published once they have completed the filing process.

He explained that candidates have a 14-day window to complete their nomination forms, pay the required filing fees, and secure the necessary endorsement signatures in accordance with sections 10 and 15 of the 2026 Guidelines for the Conduct of the National Congress.

Under the rules, each candidate must obtain endorsements from 10 party members in good standing from each region, totaling 160 endorsements nationwide.

He added that the physical submission of completed nomination forms will take place between Saturday, 7th November and Monday, 9th November 2026, at the NDC National Secretariat in Adabraka, Accra.

“So far, we have closed the picking of nomination forms, but the process of filing online is still ongoing. All aspiring candidates need 160 members of the party in good standing from the regions to endorse their forms. You do not need to finish endorsing your forms before filing, but you ought to assess your capacity before paying your filing fees. We have also decided not to disclose the identities of the aspiring candidates until they successfully file. Out of the total number, about 60 of them have successfully filed online, paid the filing fees, and printed out their copies. We expect that by 5:00 pm on 9th November, those who have filed will present the hard copies of their forms,” he stated.
