NDC to publish Executive Aspirants’ names only after successful filing – Mahdi Gibril

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided to hold on with disclosing the names of national executive aspirants until they have successfully completed the filing process.

According to the party’s Acting Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, the official publication of prospective candidates’ identities will only happen after all filing requirements have been met.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Gibril explained that aspirants have a 14-day window to complete their nomination forms online, pay the designated filing fees, and obtain the necessary endorsement signatures pursuant to sections 10 and 15 of the 2026 Guidelines for the Conduct of the National Congress.

Per the guidelines, candidates are required to secure endorsements from 10 party members in good standing from each of the 16 regions, amounting to 160 endorsements nationwide.

Following the online submission, candidates will be required to present the physical copies of their completed nomination forms between Saturday, 7th November and Monday, 9th November 2026, at the NDC National Secretariat in Adabraka, Accra.

“So far, we have closed the picking of nomination forms, but the process of filing online is still ongoing. All aspiring candidates need 160 members of the party in good standing from the regions to endorse their forms. You do not need to finish endorsing your forms before filing, but you ought to assess your capacity before paying your filing fees,” Gibril stated.

“We have also decided not to disclose the identities of the aspiring candidates until they successfully file. Out of the total number, about 60 of them have successfully filed online, paid the filing fees, and printed out their copies. We expect that by 5:00 pm on 9th November, those who have filed will present the hard copies of their forms,” he added.
