The Academic Affairs Directorate of the University of Ghana has issued an urgent notice reminding all undergraduate students of the statutory regulations governing academic progression within the institution.
According to the Directorate, Section 9.26 of the University Regulations for Junior Members (2017) mandates that students must obtain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.00 or better, in addition to satisfying specific departmental or school requirements, to progress to the next level of study. The notice further emphasised that the university operates without an academic probation system.
Consequently, undergraduate students whose CGPAs fall below the 1.00 threshold following the release of all course grades for the 2025/2026 Academic Year are deemed not to be in good academic standing. Such students are formally required to withdraw from their respective programmes of study.
Affected students have been advised to verify their academic status on the MIS Web platform. To initiate the exit procedure, students must log into the Student Support Services Portal using their Student Identification number and PIN, and select the Withdrawal Request option. The university clarified that for specific programmes, the respective School or Department will execute the withdrawal process on behalf of the affected students.
The Directorate urged students requiring further clarification to reach out to their respective College Academic Offices, while encouraging individuals seeking guidance to utilize the resources provided by the Careers and Counselling Directorate.
