The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, has extended warm congratulations to newly elected executive officers following the successful conclusion of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections.
He urged all party members to put personal differences aside, close ranks, and maintain a united front as the party focuses its efforts on securing victory in the 2028 general elections.
In an official message of appreciation, Dr Apaak expressed gratitude to the Electoral Commission and the NDC Election Directorate for ensuring a smooth and successful electoral process. He praised delegates across the constituency for turning out in large numbers and maintaining high levels of decorum throughout the voting process.
Addressing the newly elected leadership, the lawmaker advised moderation and humility, emphasizing that their electoral victory comes with an immediate mandate to foster unity and serve the party faithfully.
“Congratulations to all elected executives. I urge you to celebrate in moderation and to be magnanimous in victory, recognising that your mandate comes with the responsibility to serve and unite the party,” Dr Apaak stated.
He also extended commendations to candidates who were unsuccessful at the polls, reassuring them of their vital roles within the local party structure. Describing the process as an internal family contest, he noted that the election outcome does not diminish their value or commitment to the organisation.
“To those who were unsuccessful, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you for your courage and commitment. This was an in-family contest, and your defeat in no way diminishes your value or importance to our great NDC fraternity. You remain key members of the party and have a lot to offer our great party in Builsa South,” he said.
Looking ahead, Dr Apaak stressed that the task of party rebuilding demands collective dedication from every stakeholder within the constituency.
“The elections are now behind us. What lies ahead matters more than what has just passed: it is time to put our differences aside, close ranks, and work together in unity and solidarity. Our collective strength lies in our togetherness, and the task ahead calls for the commitment of every member. Let us unite, rebuild, and look forward to victory for the NDC in 2028,” he added.
Amid the post-election reflection, Dr Apaak expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of a party member who died in a motorbike accident while voting was underway, offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones on behalf of the constituency.
