Ghana Gold Board adjusts local gold price announcement schedule following UK daylight saving time change

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced a temporary adjustment to the daily announcement schedule for local gold prices, effective Monday, 26 October 2026, to Saturday, 27 March 2027.

The regulatory body explained that the modification is necessitated by the conclusion of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom, which aligns London time with Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in Ghana.

As a result, the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) Gold Price AM and PM benchmark fixings will take place one hour later in local time than under the previous schedule.

Under the revised timetable, the LBMA Gold AM price announcement moves from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while the LBMA Gold PM price announcement moves from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In a compliance notice to all licensed gold buyers, GoldBod instructed operators to take note of the new schedule and make the required operational adjustments for all purchase transactions.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all other rules, procedures and requirements governing local gold price determination and trading shall remain unchanged,” the regulator stated in the directive issued by its Compliance Directorate.

GoldBod clarified that the adjustment relates exclusively to the timing of the applicable LBMA pricing benchmarks and the corresponding publication of local gold prices. The previous announcement timetable will resume on Sunday, 28 March 2027, when the United Kingdom returns to British Summer Time.
