Police in Bimbilla have arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly shooting his wife to death following a heated domestic dispute.
The suspect, identified as Kaaku Kofi, was taken into custody after he allegedly shot his 32-year-old wife, Naado Adyemang, at Fulakuma, a farming community near Chamba in the Nanumba North Municipality of the Northern Region.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the tragic incident occurred after an argument ensued between the couple over suspicions that the deceased was unfaithful in the marriage.
The disagreement escalated, prompting the suspect to allegedly retrieve a firearm and shoot his wife, killing her on the spot.
The police were alerted to the scene, where the victim was found lying in a pool of blood.
Kaaku Kofi was subsequently apprehended and is currently assisting the police with investigations.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Police authorities in the municipality have reiterated their advice to couples to resolve domestic disagreements through peaceful channels or seek counselling rather than resorting to violence.
