The Ministry of Education has urged the staff of the Savanna College of Education to resume duties immediately as steps are taken to address their grievances.
The government confirmed that the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has been instructed to convene an urgent meeting with the affected staff to resolve the outstanding matters.
In an official statement issued by the Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, the ministry revealed that the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, authorised the immediate intervention of the regulatory body.
“We continue to appeal to the staff of the Savanna College of Education to resume work while their concerns are being addressed,” Dr Apaak stated.
He added: “On the authority of the Honourable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, I have directed the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to engage the staff of the Savanna College of Education.”
The ministry expressed optimism that the scheduled dialogue would yield a favorable outcome for all parties involved and minimize any further disruption to academic work.
“Consequently, a meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, 3rd November, 2026. It is our expectation that the outcome of the engagement will be positive,” the statement concluded.
The Ministry of Education is expected to provide further updates following the outcome of the GTEC engagement next week.
