Police in the Bono East Region have launched a full-scale investigation following the arrest of two teachers from Techiman Secondary School who were captured on video physically assaulting a 17-year-old male student.
The suspects, identified as 37-year-old English teacher Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and 44-year-old ICT teacher Ameyaw Adusa, were taken into custody on Sunday, 1st November 2026, to assist investigators with ongoing enquiries.
The arrest stems from an incident on campus around 4:00 pm on 23rd October 2026, when the two educators reportedly confronted the final-year student over allegations that he had previously attacked two junior students.

Confirming the development in a statement, the Regional Commander, DCOP Shaibu A. Sadique-Osie, noted that the Command has stepped in to safeguard the wellbeing of the student involved.
“The Command is taking steps to ensure the victim receives the needed medical and psychological support,” DCOP Sadique-Osie stated, adding that “the Regional Police Command wishes to assure the general public of its commitment to the welfare and protection of all students.”
The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the assault.
