Reverend Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, Founder and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, has emphasised the importance of ending Ghana’s politics of insults.
He stated that the culture of insults, in which politicians criticise and demean one other over ideological differences, must end immediately.
He claimed that just because someone is not from the NPP or NDC does not give them the right to disrespect persons like President Akufo-Addo, former President John Dramani Mahama, and former President John Kufour.
When speaking with Adwoa Saah on Rainbow Radio 92.4Fm in the United Kingdom, he branded such activities as evil and dividing the nation.
Reverend Lawrence Tetteh stated that individuals who engage in these insults will be denied blessings and opportunities.
He explained that the politics we practise must be decent, and that politicians must respect one another.
He recalled that one of the things that distinguished the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the Big Six was their desire to unite the nation.
He claimed that the Saltpond Accord was a fantastic deal that might have revolutionised the country, but that we lost sight of it along the road and have devolved into insult politics.
“That culture of insults where we take people; listen to me, just because you are not an NDC member does not mean you should insult Mahama, Rawlings, and Atta Mills.” And obviously, just because you are not from the NPP does not mean you should insult Akufo-Addo or Kufour. This culture is not Ghanaian, and we should not embrace it.
He praised Rainbow Radio, calling it one of Ghana’s most disciplined radio stations.
He believes that the station and its owner, Dr. Mac, have been consistent and decent and that several ministers of God both at home and abroad do not take the station for granted.
