A 32-year-old woman, Georgina Echem Snr., has allegedly committed suicide at Paalaam in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region.
The woman, who was known as a bead maker, was found hanging with a skipping rope in her corridor on Sunday, March 24, 2024, around 3 p.m.
Details emerging indicate that there were stains of blood that are suspected to have oozed from her nose and mouth in her blouse, right leg, and on the cement floor.
A sister to the deceased told journalists that the sister, before her unfortunate demise, requested some money from the family to pursue a course, which the family promised to give her by the end of the month.
According to her, while the family was preparing for church in the morning on Sunday, the deceased decided to remain in the house and refused to go to church.
She disclosed that they were later informed that their sister had allegedly committed suicide.
“We have all been thrown into a state of shock because we least expected this since she showed no sign of committing suicide,” the sister said.
The police have since launched an investigation into the matter.
