Ghana is now practicing an individualistic system of politics where people come into office to amass wealth – PNP Chair

Janet Nablah, the chair and leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), has termed Ghana’s present leadership style as individualistic rather than nationalistic.

The female politician averred that Ghana has over the years designed its leadership to favour individuals and their families, where they come into office to amass wealth for themselves and their families.

This situation, she lamented, has deprived the masses of better opportunities and improved living standards.

Appearing on the frontlines of Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Madam Nablah stated that individualism as a form of governance makes political leaders amass wealth and run a property system where only those in power enjoy the maximum opportunity to acquire property and to manage and dispose of it as they see fit.

“The PNP is a communitarian party.” We are communitarians. The party believes in its community. We also believe in the family structure. We believe in the traditional systems. Currently, our system adopts an individualistic approach. That is what we have now. Some groups sponsor an individual, providing an environment in which individuals can come in and amass wealth. We are focusing on individuals and how we may amass wealth for them. That’s the kind of society we have, and it’s not working for us.”

Using the current tale of a woman who was abandoned in a bush and left to die, Madam Nablah attacked the residents who recorded the occurrence and is now blaming the hospital while refusing to accept responsibility for what occurred.

She underscored the need for Ghanaian voters to kick out the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) because they have failed to manage the affairs of the country well.

“Ghanaians should vote them out and vote for the PNP. They should compensate them for what they have failed to do. When I stated they should outsource the government, I meant both the NDC and the NPP. The NDC and NPP’s weak leadership has resulted in rising food and commodity prices. They are both in government because the National Democratic Congress has representatives in parliament,” she explained.

She emphasized the importance of Ghana’s collective mindset, uniting forces, and contributing to its development to ensure its success.

On the issue of the decision by Trade and Industry Minister K.T. Hammond to get cement prices controlled with a legislative instrument (L.I.), she described it as a positive move.

She therefore slammed the minority for opposing the L.I.

“None of them is doing things to ensure that Ghanaians get better living conditions. They engage in partisan politics. That is why the PNP is admonishing Ghanaians to vote massively for the PNP. It is important to kick greedy politicians out of our body politics. This is the time to rise up against the NDC and NPP, especially those in parliament,” she highlighted.
