The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike following a productive meeting with government officials.
According to CLOGSAG, the decision to call off the strike was made on Friday, July 12, 2024, following discussions with the Office of the Senior Presidential Adviser, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).
CLOGSAG noted that both sides exhibited a commitment to resolving all outstanding issues with the civil service and local government compensation system.
“The Government of Ghana represented by the Office of the Senior Presidential Adviser, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR) and Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) on one hand, and the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) on the other hand met on 12th July, 7024.
“The Parties showed commitment towards the resolution of pertinent issues relating to the salary structure for the Staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service.”
It added that the government assured them that the finalisation of the salary structure process will be completed by October 31, 2024, and implemented effective January 1, 2025.
