Haruna-Iddrisu-1140x570

Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu has announced the government’s plans to construct a new University of Health, Agriculture, and Life Sciences.

This new university, he stated, would be built in Kintampo to serve the people of the Bono Region.

The minister noted that the president remains committed to establishing or constructing a university in each of our 16 regions.

Mr Iddrisu said it is, however, important to start from somewhere, and currently, the president is planning to establish the new university in Kintampo.

He revealed that the bill on this new university will be tabled as soon as Parliament reconvenes from recess.

“It is the desire and intention, as I have publicly stated, that every region of Ghana will be host to one higher education institution of learning. It is the dream and desire of the president that in each region, there would be an established university. But we have to begin somewhere, and we have begun somewhat in getting that done. One of the new universities that we would lay a bill in parliament this year would be the University of Health, Agriculture and Life Sciences at Kintampo to serve the Bono Region.”

The Tamale South Member of Parliament assured the Ghanaian public that they will lay the bill before the House right after it reconvenes from recess.
