Jomoro MP provides telecommunication network to 11 communities

Engineers and technical experts from the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, have commenced work in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region to extend telecommunication networks to communities facing difficulties.

The project is to help connect these communities to reliable telecommunications services.

The communities to benefit from this intervention include Adusuazo, Ebonloa, Twenen, Old Ankasa and Elonyi.

The rest are Ellenda, New Kabenlasuazo, Nuba, Mpasem, Jaway and Twearkor II.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the municipal chief executive (MCE), Benedict Boadi.

The statement said the MCE “wishes to inform the general public, particularly residents of communities experiencing network challenges, of an important development regarding efforts to improve telecommunications connectivity within the municipality.” ”.

It added, “A team of engineers and technical experts from the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, is currently in the municipality to begin work on communities facing network difficulties, with the aim of connecting them to reliable telecommunications services.”

“This intervention has been made possible through the relentless efforts and continuous engagement of the Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Hon. Dorcas Affo‑Toffey, who has remained committed to addressing the network challenges affecting several communities.”

He further disclosed that ‘The Honourable Member of Parliament officially informed the Office of the MCE of this intervention yesterday. The technical team has already commenced work, beginning with Adusuazo, after which the remaining communities will be attended to. ”.

“Residents are assured that by the close of the week, all affected communities are expected to have their network challenges significantly improved or fully resolved,” it added.

The statement said, “The Assembly, on behalf of the affected communities, expresses its sincere appreciation to the Honourable Member of Parliament for her tireless efforts and dedication towards improving communication infrastructure in the municipality.” ”.

Mr Boadi assured that the rest of the communities without a telecommunication network will be fixed.
