The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, for allegedly inciting youth to attack the residence of the late highlife icon, Daddy Lumba.

The arrest follows a viral video in which the controversial media personality is seen making comments that the police describe as offensive and capable of causing a breach of the peace.

According to the CID, the remarks specifically urged young people to storm the home of the late musician.

In an official press statement released on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the police confirmed that their investigations linked the suspect to comments surrounding the late musician’s legacy and private affairs.

The statement, signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer for the CID, noted that although Lutterodt has been granted bail, his legal troubles are only just beginning.

He is set to appear in court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He faces charges of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Additionally, the police are pursuing charges of inciting violence under both the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
