Dr. Alexander Amo Baffour, a hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National 1st Vice Chairman position, says the role has been celebrated for decades but needs to be more active and impactful.
Speaking with the media, Dr. Amo Baffour stressed that the 1st Vice Chairmanship should be held by someone fully dedicated to the party and its grassroots base.
He highlighted his own service to the party over the years, noting that he served as Chairman of the NDC in Beijing, Vice Chairman of the party’s China Chapter, and is currently the Branch Chairman for NDC Presby A, Sakumono in the Tema West Constituency, Greater Accra Region.
Dr. Amo Baffour also commended the government of H.E. John Dramani Mahama for restoring hope to Ghanaians through what he described as “good governance.”
On the controversial LGBTQ Bill, he expressed disappointment in the Minority in Parliament for their current stance. According to him, they failed to act when they were in power and are now trying to pressure the government.
He urged the government and the President to follow due process without external pressure to ensure the Bill is implemented effectively.
