The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced a temporary suspension of its registration services across the country following severe network connectivity issues with its telecommunication providers.
In a public notice released today, the authority confirmed that the technical glitch has completely disrupted operations nationwide.
The NIA expressed regret over the sudden halt, stating, “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”
Officials assured the public that efforts are already underway to rectify the situation, noting that their “technical team is working diligently with the telecommunication providers to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
While a specific timeline for restoration was not provided, the authority urged citizens to remain patient as teams work to bring the systems back online. “Registration services will resume immediately we resolve the challenge,” the statement added.
