The former MP for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, is currently receiving medical care after an alleged shooting took place at her younger brother’s home on Sunday.

Insiders report that the former politician was visiting the property belonging to Israel Kwadwo Safo when gunfire broke out.

The violence appears to stem from escalating tensions over a leadership succession row within the Kristo Asafo movement, sparked by the passing of Kwadwo Safo.

Bystanders claimed that armed individuals began shooting during a meeting that had reportedly been arranged to back the installation of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena as the late founder’s successor.

While not yet officially confirmed, reports suggest that around 15 rounds of ammunition were fired during the chaos.

She was rushed to a medical facility for treatment and is understood to be in a stable condition.

The Ghana Police Service has not yet released an official statement concerning the matter.
