This message was delivered during a sensitisation initiative arranged by the Chieftaincy Ministry of The Church of Pentecost in Kasoa, located within the Central Region.

The gathering united pupils, local chiefs, and faith leaders to address the escalating anxieties surrounding narcotics and their influence on the younger generation.

Addressing the audience, the Awutu Senya East Municipal Commander of NACCOC, Superintendent Sandra Tetteh, highlighted the necessity of maintaining ongoing educational efforts for students to ensure they comprehend the perils of substance misuse.

She remarked that instilling this knowledge in children early on is vital for curbing drug-related issues and fostering accountable future citizens.

Superintendent Tetteh additionally pressed parents to proactively back anti-drug initiatives by speaking openly with their children about the hazards of narcotics and keeping a close eye on their behaviour.

Concurrently, various stakeholders, including traditional leaders (Nananom) and members of the clergy, committed their backing to endeavours designed to tackle drug abuse across the municipality.

They urged parents, guardians, and the wider community to stay alert and inform young people about the severe medical, societal, and financial repercussions of drug dependency.

The stakeholders emphasised that overcoming substance abuse demands a shared responsibility, urging every corner of society to unite in safeguarding the youth from the perils of illegal drug consumption.
