The Coalition of Unemployed Graduates with Disabilities has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has agreed to meet with them following a picketing action held at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

The coalition staged the protest at the seat of government to draw national attention to persistent employment barriers faced by qualified persons with disabilities, demanding concrete steps to ensure their inclusion in the public sector.

Speaking to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the group’s convener, Gilbert Boateng Agyare, stated that members were resolved not to leave the Jubilee House until top leadership granted them an audience. He explained that while the group had submitted petitions in the past, they believed those documents failed to reach the intended authorities, prompting their insistence on delivering their grievances directly to the President, Vice President, or Chief of Staff.

Providing an update on the situation, Mr Agyare indicated that Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah was dispatched to receive the petition after the group refused to hand it over to a previous representative, Dr Ayeh. He added that leadership assured them the President would grant them a meeting.

“We have finally handed over our petition. It was received by Nana Yaa Jantuah. We agreed to hand over the petition because President John Dramani Mahama has agreed to meet with us. That was why we agreed to hand over our petition to Nana Yaa Jantuah. What we need is financial clearance so our graduates will be posted,” he said.
