The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cleared all forty-seven aspirants who filed nominations to contest for various national executive positions within the party.

The decision follows the completion of a thorough vetting exercise conducted by the National Officers Election Vetting Committee between 31st August and 3rd September 2026. The vetting team subsequently submitted its full report recommending all 47 candidates across nine categories as suitable and eligible to run.

In an official statement released by the committee, NOEC confirmed the outcome of the process, stating that all aspirants met the required eligibility criteria under the party’s regulations.

“NOEC is pleased to announce that the Vetting Committee has recommended that all forty-seven (47) aspirants who appeared before it are suitable and eligible to contest for the respective positions for which they filed their nominations. Accordingly, all 47 aspirants have been cleared to contest, subject to the processes provided under the applicable rules governing the elections,” the statement read.

A breakdown of the cleared aspirants indicates that four candidates will contest for the National Chairman position, thirteen for National Vice-Chairperson, four for General Secretary, four for National Treasurer, and eight for National Organiser.

Furthermore, six candidates will compete for the National Youth Organiser position, two for National Women’s Organiser, five for National Nasara Organiser, and one candidate for National Communications Director.

Following the successful vetting phase, the party is now set to proceed to the next critical stage of the internal electoral process. Balloting to determine positions on the official ballot paper has been scheduled for Wednesday, 9th September 2026, at the NPP Headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra.

Aspirants have been informed to participate in the balloting process either in person or through their duly authorized representatives, with specific timelines for each category to be communicated directly to them.

The Committee also expressed its gratitude to all stakeholders, candidates, and party supporters for their cooperation throughout the exercise, reiterating its resolve to deliver a transparent election.

“NOEC remains committed to conducting the remaining stages of the election process in a manner that is fair, transparent, orderly and credible, and calls on all aspirants, their supporters and Party members to continue to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the unity and integrity of the New Patriotic Party,” the statement added.
