A 55-year-old man has been discovered dead in his room at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
The man’s lifeless body, almost decomposed, was discovered in his room after residents in the area smelled a bad odour from his room.
Neighbours revealed that the man became ill and was taken to the hospital, but started recovering.
However, he was nowhere to be found, and his neighbours assumed he had gone missing.
They searched for him in vain until they smelled the foul odour emanating from his room.
The lifeless body, which was almost decomposing, was discovered after they broke in.
According to a friend of the deceased who spoke to the press, the man was not showing any signs of illness while recovering from his illness.
He was discovered dead on Monday, February 20, 2023, around 5:30 p.m.
The body has been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
