Fianoo, a former Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold beat off competition from fierce rival Isaac Koomson in the elections held on Thursday morning at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Great Olympics Executive Director pulled a total of 71 votes to beat his sole competitor who got 41 votes.

Reacting to why he lost with Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, host of the show, he said his policies were practicable and some felt he would have been a better leader compared to the winner.

However, some factors did not favour me and I know it was not my time and congratulate him for winning and praying that he will deliver leadership that will help transform GHALCA, make it attractive and great.

He described the polls as credible, transparent, and fair and for the fact that we did not witness any bad thing, I think we must be proud of the processes.

When asked if he would be willing to support the winner to manage GHALGA, he said he would be willing to help Mr. Fianoo extends a hand to him and seek his support.

He said if he is asked for his support, he would be able to support.

He stressed if the Chairman extends a hand, I will support him.

“I will go out there uninvited and start throwing my weight about. If the Chairman extends a hand and seeks doe my support, I will gladly support him.”

He expects the managers of GHALCA to build their capacity so it will reflect in the various bus of Ghana.

The clubs in Ghana he noted need a lot of resources to manage their teams so it would be attractive.

He had plans in instituting a welfare scheme where clubs would be expected to contribute to an investment fund to secure the future of their members.

He also had plans in introducing a GHALCA Gala Night where awards will be given to sponsors and top performers of the season – from colts to the premiership.
