Security analyst Adib Saani has underscored the need for the Ghana Football Association to have specialized and trained security officials to manage security in our sports stadiums during matches.
He said there is the need for some level of preparedness at the security level during games, especially the crucial games.
He was not happy at the warning shots fired during the crucial game between Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday, June 27, 2021.
He was of the view that a better option could have been used.
He explained that security officers who would be used for the matches must be prepared because managing security during sporting events varies from other security-related issues.
He was speaking on Rainbow Sports on recorded cases of confusion that nearly marred the game yesterday.
The analyst added that we don’t have to use general security officers and believe they would do a better job.
He stressed the need for specialized trained security officers for out sporting events.
He does not also want a repetition of the May 9 stadium disaster.
