Captain of Ghana’s Amputee football national team, Richard Opentil has disclosed that the team would be presenting the cup to President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
According to him, arrangements have been made for them to meet with President Akufo-Addo following their victory at the 2021 Amputee AFCON in Tanzanian.
Speaking on Rainbow Sports he said the team of nine feel proud in representing Ghana despite the legal issues surrounding amputee football in Ghana.
The ‘Black Challenge’ defeated Liberia in the finals to win the ultimate after edging the likes of Egypt, Nigeria, and Angola en route to the final.
They put up a spirited performance in the final game to defeat Liberia 3-2 to become the champions of Africa.
The captain extended gratitude to the President for his support as well as former President John Dramani Mahama for his congratulatory message.
